托玛斯·爱尔森（Thomas T.Allsen），美国新泽西大学历史系名誉教授，除本书外，还著有Mongol Imperialism: The Policies of the Grand Qan ngke in China, Russia, and the Islamic Lands, 1251-1259（1987）、Commodity and Exchange in the Mongol Empire: A Cultural History of Islamic Textiles（1997）、Culture and Conquest in Mongol Eurasia（2004）等作品。
