狄德满（Rolf Gerhard Tiedemann），男，中国史研究著名学者，1941年出生于德国，先后取得美国威斯康星大学(Milwaukee)学士、英国伦敦大学硕士和博士学位。先后在英国伦敦大学亚非学院、英国赫特福德大学、英国剑桥大学、美国旧金山大学等国际知名大学任教，曾任The Journal of Peasant Studies、The Journal of Agrarian Change等期刊主编。现为英国伦敦大学国王学院中华基督宗教研究中心资深研究员，美国旧金山大学利玛窦中西历史文化研究所学术委员会成员。其研究领域主要为中国基督教史、义和团运动以及1840年后的中国社会运动等。
其代表作有Reference Guide to Christian Missionary Societies in China: From the 16th to the 20th Century(Armonk, N.Y.: M.E. Sharpe, 2009)、Handbook of the History of Christianity in China, Vol. 2: 1800 to the Present (Leiden: Brill, 2009.)等。论文有：《西方义和团运动研究一百年》、《大刀会与义和团的关系》、《基督教与现代中国社会历史——东西方学术理路的态度变迁》、《梨园屯教案和义和拳的起源《义和团民与天主教徒在华北的武装冲突》；Roman Catholicism: A Marginal Religion in China、 Controlling the Virgins: Female Propagators of the Faith and the Catholic Hierarchy in China等。
2011年6月，被聘为山东大学一级教授。
