比early modern那卷要好(也可能是16-17世纪问题比18世纪复杂),章节详略得当,SSK和STS视角充分发挥。缺点是法语文献综述相对偏少,尤其是大革命期间的科学问题。重生科,缺测绘、地理、地质。
