读者在给他的来信中说，这本书是他们看过最幽默的书，也有读者说，这是他们看过最让人悲伤的书。一件一致的是，这是一本很黑暗的书。看看豆瓣上‘喜欢读"Haunted"的人也喜欢’的图书，里面包括了Snuff和索多玛120天，此书多重口味我就不多强调了。他说，这本书绝对不是一本好的枕边书。其实我想，此书一定是本好的厕所书...(4回应)

看书前就听说这是个政治恐怖小说，果真，整本书里，几乎没有一个对笑容的描写，一些都是沉抑的，没有情感的。故事围绕着Offred （the Handmaid）的命运，她生活在一个做爱是为了繁殖，一切都由权威控制的社会。一本很好的反乌托邦的书，由于一切都是虚幻的，所以有不少书评家说这是科幻小说 - Atwood 非常的生气，一...(3回应)
