还得以后一遍一遍的读。在没读过lyotard和badiou的情况下，把那两章都跳了。第一二章还是比较好理解的。最后一章和contemporary art的现状还挺有关。

Image on the Edge
很不错的对中世纪各类艺术的研究，把margin从人类学的概念里面带进更具体的艺术作品和社会现象中去，边界不仅持续地评判、谐拟、颠覆着中心的图像，同时也不可避免地重申着中心的位置和权力。边界不仅被用来分析手抄本文字四周的图案、教堂角落里的各种动物/怪物浮雕，也定义这社会的不同阶层、艺术家本身、甚至中心的自我矛盾。Camille从后现代自身的很多身份和社会建构的定义出发，将中世纪的社会和艺术看成是对众多社会矛盾和意识形态的冲突折射入表现形式的过程，这些我们所谓的“grotesque”在中世纪具有流动性的含义，所谓的“other”和中心的关系也绝非二元对立这么简单。读完消除很多对中世纪的社会essentialist的定义。Camille的语言也诙谐得很。
