Learning to live in a different way

It may no longer make sense to call them in-between spaces, but rather places where you feel you are outside because of their materiality and the amount of light they receive. You feel that the architecture is somehow blurred, that there is less matter than you thought was necessary in a room. It’s like a deconstructed room.
We use compression systems instead of deflection to make connection with gravitation and relations with light.
That links up with the idea of the kind of material that we use. It is often pre-industrial material which is related to open systems, craftsmanship and manual work. Maybe it’s because highly industrialized or closed systems don’t tolerate the nuances that allow a particular response to a particular context. These values are obvious in bricks, which are small, repetitive and adaptable to a wide range of crises. We are more interested in these open systems because the inclusion of time and adaptation to pre-existences is easier with them.
