Into action

This memo was to be circulated to the rank and file and probably went from Burma Area Army to the armies, divisions, regiments and battalions and on down to the companies and platoons. The company and platoon leaders, who actually had to instruct the troops, probably had most difficulty with it. Most of them must have followed the official line and told their men not to be taken prisoner whatever happened, but to kill themselves first.
