Autoritratto （Self-portrait）

Morandi, intent on modernity, strips his figure of any ostentation or academic construction and portrays himself with a severe and self-absorbed expression. His face is deliberately veiled in shadow as though rejecting any approach from the viewer and offering us no psychological insight.

之前看乌菲齐自画像特展时对莫兰迪1924这幅自画像印象深刻，直观感受是，他也把自己当成了一个静物加以描绘。今翻检图录方知有后作，这一特点则被写实倾向削弱。图录提要强调了脸部的阴影，并指出1925的阴影被加深。不过前作更有名，恐怕正缘于其技法与个人风格的高度契合性。
