ba does not assign a theta-role to its subject, in contrast to bei. There is also no evidence that it assigns a theta-role to the NP following it.

凭我的语感，这种句子真是informal到家了，干嘛要画蛇添足多一个“把”，感觉作者只是为了说明ba phrase preposing的问题。
