第54页 Chapter 3 The rise and fall of counterexamples: Gettier, Goldman, and Lewis

Another counterexample not based on false beliefs is the famous case of the barn, which I insert here for further reference: You are driving through a rural area and notice what surely seem to be barns in the fields you are passing. You quite justifiably form the belief that a particular one of the objects you are seeing is a barn – which in fact it is. What you don’t know, however, is that the farmers in this area frequently put up (as a joke or to give an impression of prosperity) painted facades that merely seem to be barns. You were just lucky to have encountered one of the few real barns. In this case, we would not say that your belief that you are looking at a barn is a piece of knowledge, even though there are no false beliefs involved in your arriving at this belief. 这段,不是在说我国的形象工程么。。。不过这个例子在这里不合适。 You quite justifiably form the belief that a particular one of the objects you are seeing is a barn – which in fact it is. 我觉得,就这个事实来说,没有任何问题,至于有没有形象工程和这个无关。
