If I'd had any background in the coffee business or business in general, I never would have started the company. I probably would have said, "It's too hard. It's not practical. There's no way you can make a profit working so slowly."But I think the fact that I didn't have preconceived notions about it meant I was freer to take a leap and do something more personally meaningful. Ignorance is bliss. It's like how people who aren't native English speakers have ways of speaking that are charming, even if not technically correct.
