Whenever I watch a movie written by Jaoui and Barci--or rather, think about it, having seen it-- I am always struck by how they manage to hold audience interest without conventional narrative hooks. Their films have stories, of a kind, but not ones as to make audiences watch in the conscious anticipation of seeing plot point resolved. Instead, their movies drop us into a world in which ten or a dozen characters are going through various emotional and professional crises. And, ultimately, at a place that seems to make perfect sense, though it's never clear exactly why, we leave them to go about their business, and the movie ends. 引自 Agnès Jaoui
