On the surface, Dick's writing had all the covnentional ingredients of 1950s's science fiction - robuts, spaceships and atomic technology - but he gradually found ways of subverting the usual conventions. Using SF as a place to work out his own problems - philosophical as well as emothinal - he successfully captures the Cold War paranoia of the times and twith it a cult following.引自 Philip K. Dick
By the turn os 1980s. Dick was drug-free but his health was in decline. A movie adaption of Do Androids's Dream of Electric Sheep? had finally entered production, but Dick was vociferously critical of the story changes made to what would soon bocome Blade Runner. He was especially opposed to the script's intepretation of the artificial 'replicant' characters as tragic supermen. However, when the production team showed him a reel of completed effects shots, Dick was so stunned by the accuracy with which the footage captured what he conceived as the mood of the original novel that he was finally placated.引自 Philip K.
