人物简介  · · · · · ·

Mother, writer, history professor, Homer fangirl, and Alexander the Great geek.

Jeanne Reames is a member of the History faculty at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, where she teaches Greek, Macedonian, and Ancient Near Eastern history. She's served as graduate program chair, and currently acts as director of the Ancient Mediterranean Studies Program at UNO. Besides fiction, she has published multiple articles and book chapters on ancient Macedonia.

Born and raised in Florida, Reames counts Lakeland as her hometown, and attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where she majored in English with a focus on creative writing. She still harbors a certain affection for the state because she knows it intimately--but doesn't miss the unremitting humidity or crazy-big bugs. She left Florida to earn a master's degree in religious studies from Candler School of Theology at Emory in Atlanta, and a PhD in history, from Penn State University.

Today, she lives in midtown Omaha in a neo-Tudor built in 1936. With her son grown (an electrician and budding fiction author himself), she shares her little house with three impertinent cats (Licorice, Cecilia Iphigeneia, and Kleopatra), a polite garden bunny dubbed Summer, and a feisty fox squirrel who argues with her over who has rights to the garden at what time of day. In warm weather, her front porch will be occupied by a key lime bush named Cyrus the Great, because she's still a Florida Girl at heart.
