A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other. 没有人容易被了解，而且也不可能彻底被了解，想奢求自己被了解也是可笑，而且真完全被了解是很可怕的事情。就这么表面的生活着相处着路过着吧，偶尔来个交集~跟事物的接近就更为玄妙偶然。路过的地方，那一刹那也许就不再有将来，每一秒的经历下一秒即消逝不见。My friend is dead, my neighbour is dead, my love, the darling of my soul, is dead; it is the inexorable consolidation and perpetuation of the secret that was always in that individuality,and which I shall carry in mine to my life's end.失去什么就非常伤心的人如果活太长可怎么办？

Pride,contempt,defiance,stubbornness, submission,lamentation,succeeded one another; so did varieties of sunken cheek,cadaverous color,emaciated hands and figures. But the face was in the main one face,and every head was prematurely white. 我喜欢这段描写，画面感，一堆挣扎的脸。

The faintness of the voice was pitiable and dreadful. It was not the faintness of physical weakness, though confinement and hard fare no doubt had their part in it. Its deplorable peculiarity was, that it was the faintness of solitude and disuse. It was like the last feeble echo of a sound made long and long ago. So entirely had it lost the life and resonance of the human voice, that it affected the sensed like a once beautiful colour faded away into a poor weak stain.So sunken and suppressed it was, that is was like a voice underground. So expressive it was ,of a hopeless and lost creature, that a famished traveller ,wearied out by lonely wandering in a wilderness, would have remembered home and friendsin such a tone before lying down to die. 此段可以当范文。。诗一样的语言

Altogether, the Old Bailey, at that date, was a choice illustration of the precept,that" Whatever is is right;" an aphorism that would be as final as it is lazy, did it not include the troublesome consequence, that nothing that ever was,was wrong. 我不知道存在的就是合理的这句话原意是什么，但当我比如说一些事情不好，就很反感别人跟我说存在的就是合理的这句。什么叫合理，发生的已经发生而已。这本书也这么提，如果存在的就是合理的是对的，那很引向一个结论，就是没存在过的就不合理 ，这结论明显不对哇
