Summary: The clarkson family lived in the country near Cambridge. Molly had three children: Jackie, Roger and Diane. Jackie was 30 years old and she liked to smoke. Roger just lost his job but he had an expensive house and a car to support. Diane wanted to be a singer. She didn't like things. She knew her mother killed her father and blacked her mother for money. Not only her children, Molly's sister Annie also asked for money from her. The husband of Annie, Albert came into her house for support. Annie was in bed and needed a nusrse for 24 hours a day. Tom Brigges wanted half the garden. He lost money on his farm and he wanted more land to compensate the lose. Peter Hobbs lost his first job because Molly wrote a letter to his office , comlaining about him. At the party of Molly's birthday, they argued with each other. Molly was found dead next morning by Diane. They called the family doctor Pratt. An empty bottle of sleepin tablets were found in Diane's bag. The two detectives , Inspector Walsh and sergeant Foster came into the house to question everyone.They found that Tom was the gardener who fell in love with Jackie. Molly said no for their relationship because she thought a gardener was not for a Clarson girl. When Tom moved back across their house, Jackie decided to kill her mother to help her lover.

My opinion: Molly had some problems with raising her children. First, she killed her husband and was afraid of her youngest child Diane after that. Then, we can see from her sarcasim: I was 50, but i will always be her "litte sister" that Molly didn't cherish family a lot. Molly and Jackie didn't get love or money in the end.
