小结
劳伦斯对于性爱与情欲的描写如他的小说一样大胆露骨,却也尽抒缠绵悱恻之意象。不似浪漫主义对爱情的天马行空,以更现实的手法刻画内心波动。 诗歌不仅仅是对爱的单调歌颂,而是描写了人应对爱的千百种反应,实在是堪绝。有“but she caught sight of her own reflection and that held her spellbound for two seconds while I fled.”这样对爱情的逃避,有“The spark fell and kindled instantly on my blood,then died out almost as swiftly. ”这样短暂的激情,还有“Because they only try to make women and love and sex An escape from their horror of imprisonment in our civilization.”这般对所谓男性的“爱”的终极解释。 并且劳伦斯在韵律诗及其变格上做了很大突破,部分保留了“形”,却更往自由诗的路数走,也不乏为一种极大的突破。 例如“I did not know Love had settled down on me: He came like a sea-gull, sinking with uplifted wings down on a slow-breathing sea,”全诗是韵律诗结构,但是却有大量诗行突破八音步,颇有一种把诗歌平铺直叙之意。他的很多诗歌均如此,保留传统叙诗方式使得读起来仍有一定节奏感,但也打破常规,拒绝了为韵律而凑词或跨行的问题。 不得不说劳伦斯诗歌的光彩被他小说给抹去了,但也是值得去一读的。
