The textbook for VLSI design
022912: Still in Chap 1. I like his clear statement on everything and his flow is very smooth. Especially the top level to cell unit make me think about the <Orange's Operating System>. For the MIPS architecture, I use his another book: <Digital Design and Computer Architecture> which has more detail and in this CMOS VLSI, he assume the reader had already learn the Computer Architecture. Though, to fully understand CompArch, you'd better learn by doing, say, finish the project: E158 Spring 2007 MIPS Project:
