The flower girl Mrs.Doolittle is bet on by a phonetician and a business man that she will be trained to sound and act like a duchess within 6 months. The Phonetician Mr. Higgins wins the bet. But the flower girl storms out on account of Higgins bad temper and disdainfully remarks.
She hides into Higgins mother's house until Higgins finds out. They had a unpleasant quarrel.
In the end of the story, Mrs.Doolittle marries not Higgins, but to another admirer Mr.Freddy. The prince and princess finally lead a happy life.
The end of the story is badly ended, not very eye-catchy, actually it's a little unsatisfying and mundane.
Anyway, when it comes to Pygmalion, the word resurrected the concept of a psychological word, "Pygmalion Effect". and the flamboyant image of Audrey Hepburn, staring the movie version of Pygmalion. Garn!
This drama I daresay was more than a sarcastic revelation of the shallow and void upper-class english society, it means a great deal to us youngsters in direction of love affections. To Lady Doolittle, a man with a harsh misbehaveness like Mr.Higgins was not attractive at all, even in some respects we felt a bit partiality she had towards him.

p.s It is really entertaining to read the book in bizarre London accent. Go give it a go!
