This is a very good short story with an amazing plot-line. I have to say it remained me an episode in xxxholic when i was reading it. A very much similar story like the monkey's paw. People might think it is unreal because of the involvement of magic, monkey's paw itself. And because of this, they may even judge the disconnection between the worlds inside and outside and further treat the story as "a story" or "for kids". However, i think, there is no way to show the depth and darkness of the selfish and greedy of human being more straightforward than simply telling the truth. Story can be fake but the horror of the endless wants and needs and conflicts unveiled from mankind himself in the story is undeniable that it is too true to admit that it is real and existing in our bodies. Without suffering from hardship, how the heck can we get whatever we dream about. Pains for everyone to suffer, burden for everyone to carry in lives are always fair. But we still cannot get it. We still believe in miracle, believe in the power of belief, believe one day wishes will come true even without us to try. What a beautiful dream, man. Stories like this is totally an alarm, waking dreamers pulling them to the reality. The old says no pain no gain. Enjoy your bitter medicine and get to know what it really is.
