The first part of this book is mainly focused on development process. At the very beginning, the concept of “Build Process” is introduced. The idea behind “Build Process” is very like the now widely accepted practices like Continues Integration and Continues Delivery. Both of the goals are to automate the working process, reduce repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and achieve high quality code. Front-end performance is very important. In the first part of this book, a lot of mainstream optimization methods are covered, like resource bundling, minification, sprinting, cache busting, image optimisation, etc. Getting to know all these techniques in one books is really a very good reading experience.
The only drawback is that the certain chapters are kind of tedious.
