Who Moved My Cheese? was written by Spencer Johnson of the United States, which tells about an amazing way to deal with change in our work and our life. In this story, there are four main characters: two mice, "Sniff" and "Scurry," and two little people, human metaphor, "Hem" and "Haw." And there characters are the same as the meaning of their name. They all live in a maze and they need to find cheese to make a living. But there is a change in their life, and Sniff and Scurry are quickly fit this change because they have prepared well. Hem also made a change after some thinking, but Haw doesn’t. At last, Sniff, Scurry and Hem can find cheese, but Haw cannot.
In my opinion, though I think the book doesn’t very good, I believe all readers will have some thinking. In our life, most of us are Hem or Haw, we don’t want change and we are afraid of change. After reading this book, I have thought a lot about change.
I am in a normal university and I should go back to my hometown to be an English teacher in a high school. However, most of my classmates, the same as me, are not satisfied with the situation that we should do something we know in the rest of our life. But most of us can do nothing, only to study hard to have a better school.
Fortunately, I found a little people are doing something to change it recently. They are not satisfied with the situation, and they tried to have higher education or learn more skills to change the situation by all kinds of ways. Surprisingly, someone choose to pursue higher education so they can have a better opportunity, someone choose to learn more skills, for example, they learn psychology or other hot subject, or they develop some hobbies, or they start an another job.
I believe something should change if we find our life is boring or something is wrong in our life. I believe keep running, and I believe keep running is keep changing. As we all know, our life is very short and we should make our life meaningful and colorful. If I find my situation is very boring, I can do nothing, I must make some change. So I remind myself of keeping running.
When I knew I should go back and to be a teacher, and then, get married with a “nice boy” before I am 26. I thought it is very terrible. In my college life, I am very happy because, I am doing something I think is very meaningful, and I am being a better me. I think it is change, and I enjoy changing. When I begin to do something very new to me, I am not afraid, but exciting. When I find it is difficult, I will encourage myself. As a matter of fact, I don’t like myself if I am always afraid to do something or flee some troubles.
In conclusion, keeping changing is very meaningful for me and for my life.
