Really something awesome !!! This play is adopted from two stories of Peter Pan and Alice in the Wonderland, two of which are famous Children stories earning their reputation in this field for many years. Besides, they have also been moved to cinemas and theaters, every time a successful hit. They all tell the story of two wonderful children who would never grow up, and for ever enjoy the beautiful things in their dream world. But is that true?
In China, we have a saying: the play is like the life. This book, which in fact is also a play, put the two main characters as the player of Peter Pan and Alice in the wonderland. For many years later, even the author of these tow books had passed, both of these two “kids” had grown up to adults. They had experienced their life as common people, or experienced more, for they once were Peter Pan and Alice. They struggle more from their true life and their life in the books. Whether a boy can really live in the Neverland, or whether a girl can be the queen in the Wonderland?
At the near end of this book, here is a question: who is the real? Alice and Peter Pan in life or in the books? Hundreds years later, people would never remember the former two, but the later would immortalize. So who is the real?
This book contains many topics of childhood and adulthood. Almost every line convey their meaning of burying the pureness and innocence of children but fueling the sorrow and sadness of adults.
I will end this comment with a line from a movie, “we won’t call ourselves grown ups, only kids speak like this. We are adults.”
