The second half of the book is more interesting, maybe because that's where Strickland is less annoying.. Genius is never for us to understand, who can be both an abominable person and a talented artist. So who are we to judge them? It is the natural desire of Strickland to paint and create beauty that strikes me the most. Rarely in my life have I felt such an intense desire to do something or the courage to keep doing it or the talent to do something so fantastic. I admire him.
The language of this book is accurate and inspiring, with tons of beautiful and smart sentences. It is definitely worth reading for a second time, and maybe I’ll read it again. I guess this is my second English book. Really glad I can finish it.
