All things boiled down to my procrastination:)I finally chose Flipped, I have saw the film adapted from which for about three times. And I thought it can’t be so rough to start such a rock-firm job.
I don’t think repeat is not a good thing ,actually each time I review it ,different inspirations just jumped out of my mind. And reading the original vision is absolutely diverse.I still remember that I laid special emphasis on the adolescent love (of course)when I was looking through the sentences describe like that
And for the first time in my life,I had that feeling. You know, like the world is moving all around you,all inside you,and you’re floating.Floating in midair. And the only thing keeping you from drifting away is the other person’s eyes.Theyy’re connected to yours by some invisible physical force, and they hold you fast while the rest of the world swirls and twirls and falls completely away.
His hair smelled like watermelon.
Just after that Juli sniffed Brice, and yes sniffing just remind me of my boyfriend in high school (of course he still is now).Sniffing is not a strange thing when you are really into someone. It comes to me the soap-like,warm and dry smell just easily around you, like a swan spread her wings and put you under the plume. The details just touched me deeply.
Then I started to think about more in the next time,I gradually find out that Flipped is not only a pure-love story about two snotty little children. To be honest,it’s only a tip of the iceberg. The book deserves to ponder .Most people might be impressed by the classical quotations.
“The cow by itself is just a cow,and the meadow by itself is just grass and flowers, and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light, but put them all together and you’ve got magic.”
The words itself is magic, the whole being greater than the sum of parts ,it’s the only way to judge things and even people. In contrast,Brices’s father didn’t have a clue and were taken off guard. There was something rotten buried just beneath the surface,we gotta to learn about his irony and picky attitude ,which actually stem from his melancholy experience. He is unsatisfied with himself, that’s why he always complained about all things in an irony and picky attitude，forming a self-protection mechanism. His cowardice and Juli’s bravery is in deep contrast, which also impressed the readers a lot.
Life is short.
“Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare.”
And Juli is really a girl in the light. She’d never cry before. Not when she’d broken her arm in P.E.,not when she’d been teased at school or ditched by her brothers. Not even when they’d cut down the sycamore tree. She is tough and also know how to reflect in herself. Her affection for Brice never increased to idolatry. She konws what she wants, not only her sycamore tree, but her love. And I also noticed a detail in the book:Juli started to think about people whether their whole beings are greater than the sum of of its part in the nine grades. The girl just started to analyze people’s characters in such early age, which puts me to shame.
A girl like that doesn't live next door to everyone.
And I have learned a lot from her, even in the night,I gradually find out I am consist of the parts of Juli , Anne (Anne of Green Gables) and Mary（The Secret Garden )
Maybe next time I will see more.
