"Karael and Jondee have traveled many lifetimes in a partnership for the good of mankind. Jondee's first experience with Karael in this lifetime was when he was five years old. He had been lying by the fireplace when he felt as if someone had entered the room. When he looked back behind him he saw Karael and there was an instant recognition.
