第二卷还算读得津津有味，第三卷开始犯晕了，到结尾才回过神来。大背景是希腊化时代的对自我关系的推崇和强化，self-preoccupation主导下的生存艺术：强调身体面对性的fragility，性的专偶化同时强调夫妻关系的重要性/相互性，男童之爱地位下降。虽然性本身尚不会被联结到evil，但已现端倪，

后面这三部如果能等比例缩小（一部缩短到一章，一章缩短到一节），应该会更对我口味，毕竟对古希腊/古罗马/早期基督教于性行为的态度兴趣有限。第二部和第三部行文很清晰，最后一部要繁冗一些，当然原因可能在于基督教教义本身就蛮绕的。

Vol. 2 和Vol. 3里面关于古人养生术、self-mastery真的给了我很多启发。
