Impressive, elaborate, humourous, worth of reading. Again, Winters's a perfect man, how could we not love him. And Speirs, what a legend.And Nixon,Lipton, Compton,Malarkey, Gordon ...So many lovely men. As for Eugene, unlike in the film, there's little description in the book actually. Then, still, the movie is a success.

Dick Winters is the gentlest of all men. 铁骨柔肠的军人，可以看作米勒上尉的原型。其他一些人和事也是《拯救大兵瑞恩》的素材，比如神枪手Shifty Powers，不就是杰克逊嘛。

We Stand Alone! 断断续续，从7月23日到11月13日，傍晚终于读完最后一页，仿佛经历一场精神洗礼一般，跟着101空降师506团E连在二战走了一圈，死亡，兄弟之情，乐观向上，进取的精神，意犹未尽。Stephen Ambrose的这部作品实在太精彩

断断续续读了快要一年了 读英文确实让人会偷懒 但终究还是读完了。和电视剧版的一样优秀，也就是说难得电视剧拍的这么还原。 old soldiers never die, they just fade away.

看完了BOB的书，有点想哭，又想笑，活着的人能够度过完整的人生，永远记得逝去的朋友，在最后的big jump不犹豫，大约就是境界了吧。好书看完有点寂寞。整本书最好的总结，“I served in a company of heroes.”

战争中的兄弟情 描写的很详细 算是我看过最好看的战争书 虽然有点长也有点难

跟电视剧有许多不同的细节，作者的描述详细，但不细致。不过作为这部电视剧的忠实影迷和小说的忠实读者（读了不下5-6遍，中文的或英文的），依然爱不释手。（书橱里藏有的一本不是这个出版社的，是旧版封面，hardcover）
