挺好的一个设定，海边孤屋，新欢旧爱幽灵一样接连浮现，欲从婚姻的牢笼里救出初恋，满足那一点雄性的海伦情结，却发现她早已蜕变成婚虐关系里的斯德哥尔摩患者，眼里闪烁红光，绝望却兴奋。读到一半，搞明白整本书里所有人脑子都有病，一个正常人都没有之后，就真的没有什么兴趣了。叫我怎么对一帮神经病做的事情感兴趣。

只看过两本IM不敢说，“我”都让人生厌，但她似乎从男性第一人称里获得了一种力量，而且写得实在好，不愧同时还是哲学家。

开头描述父母的那一部分非常惊艳，后面随着情节发展越来越狂躁。但是整体阅读体验非常好，500页密密麻麻的叙述我也可以认认真真读下去。感觉James是真爱。

文字优美，叙述细腻。虽然较多的“自说自话”显得有点啰嗦，这里放下对主人公的是非评判，那些内心的独白，尽管大多数也是来自illusions，又何尝不是真实的生命体验？倘若主人公能够以此感受到生命的存在和不间断的生命滋养，又有何妨？再者，变幻莫测的大海是水如风，人生更是一场戏，大家都是演员，又各自按照自己的解读去演绎不同的角色。那些看得见的和看不见的部分，构成了角色的整体，让人直接或间接地体验人生百味，而不是禁锢于狭隘的被预设和被定义中。
