The elusive and intriguingly titled Eye of the Painter and Elements of Beauty is Loomis' last book, published posthumously in 1961, two years after his death. It's his treatise on how an artist perceives beauty and harmony. It's an interesting book, but it's not for casual perusal and doesn't have all that much Loomis art. It's mainly illustrated with samples of the work of fine artists. It is also extremely rare. In the same span that we've sold 141 Figure Drawings, we've sold nine Eye of the Painter's.
Actually this is the first page of the content. I have to admit that it is really aspiring to read [Art of Drawing] as well as [Eye of the Painter]. The feeling is similar when i was reading an HK-painter's book [Why and How is a Picture Book Great]. Generally speaking, these three books that I've mentioned above are talking about how to discover the ART in real life. As a "life"(I mean, I'm al...

The feeling is similar when i was reading an HK-painter's book [Why and How is a Picture Book Great]. Generally speaking, these three books that I've mentioned above are talking about how to discover the ART in real life.
As a "life"(I mean, I'm also a living creature), I always think that art should be everywhere. But what we have been taught is limited. Many parents don't suggest their children to buy enough so-called artistic things, only because these parents cannot tell the art within the children's eyes. However, due to numerous researches, this proves to strangle the artistic seedlings of many people at a young age.
My parents, unfortunately, because of many good and bad reasons, didn't allow me to study art when I was young. But after I have studied in GDUFS for about four years, they now start to support me to chase for my "fortune". They finally think that I should stick to my own dream rather than finishing their dream for me in the future. I'm grateful for how they think now but still regretful for my compromises before.
So now begins my long-long-looooooong journey towards my childhood's dream. I hope it is not too late.
