The book Lawrence considered his best and I consider a lengthened version of "The Horse Dealer's Daughter". Like the opening chapters better and sympathize with Birkin's philosophy. And women in Lawrence's novels seem always a bit absurd.

在Ursula和Gudrun身上我都能找到自己的部分影子。一开始以为与Ursula共鸣更多,后来读到最后发觉自己更能理解Gudrun。她的聪明在于she sees through men’s conceit and keeps her judgement even in love. 不是一本容易读懂的小说,有些部分其实还是似懂非懂的。Birkin与Gerald讨论“女人究竟想要什么”那一段没太读懂。以及,对Loerke的艺术家人格魅力感受最深。读完的感受是,也许人是不分男女的,人只有灵魂的相近与疏远。

看了八分之一都没到重点真捉急!劳叔是不是把男人想象地太美好了?让两个男主搞基算了啦!这书严重应该更名为men in love。然后默默感叹下我到底是有多sensitive看到开头就预料到男人的爱!三观不一样的人在一起那就是纯杯具。劳叔被精神分析和现代主义洗脑过甚。

看电视剧才更明白这些主角男女的立场和想法,但不管是隐形同性恋的挣扎、还是害怕陷太深而不敢爱的临场退缩,都可能是充分迎合了当代口味的简化误读,因为原文真的有更多内心层次,多到常令我不置可否、困惑不解的地步。我不相信纯粹是劳伦斯太隐晦、太急切要藏匿真意。也可能真受限于我的英语水准,反而只为无数佳句吸引折服。但评判作家功力,很少只以句为单位来看吧。

额……有一星是给呆barny的><好吧我承认找劳伦斯的书来看纯粹就是应为他是男神Damon Albarn喜欢的英国作家。描写英国中产阶级的生活、思想和精神状态啥的的确挺符合呆barny英摇时期的主题。劳伦斯的笔触很是细腻,有些心理啊思想精神状态啥的描写真的挺到位的~这是《The Rainbow》的续篇,可是图书馆找不到啊希望有机会找来看看~结局挺出乎意料的~~里面提到的一些点其实写得挺有道理,也挺现实的,呵呵还是挺有哲理的嘛~虽然看得真的是太慢啦呀英国小说好像都是情节进展得好慢的~像一杯温热的白开水那样不紧不慢的娓娓道来……

伟大的从2023读到2024的小说,从写到欧洲大陆之后因为已经铺垫了会发生什么一直不忍心看完。在作者随心所欲的意识流和炫技一样的文笔面前,人类男女和relationship只是此书之中非常普通的元素。最后说句,Gudrun太矫情讨厌啦
