中文翻译是“舆论”，和我对public opinion的直观感觉完全不一样，不过Lippmann指的也的确不仅仅是一种在公共场合的言论。课堂上的讨论其实没有太涉及新闻业而是更广泛地在谈论Lippmann设想中的Democracy如何可以在现实中履行。我对Lippmann主要的问题在于他依然没有对道德问题给出解答或者一种有可能指向民主社会的一种设想。对于食品药品以及医学类学科，去承认专家的必要性不是一件难事，但是当话题是一些更与生活本身相关甚至几乎每一个社会成员都无法逃避的时候，如何让民主不变成一种少人执政又同时不变成混乱呢？
