It was nice to have female characters featuring much more prominently than the male characters in this book. A welcome contrast from my previous read!I liked that Lucy was so strong. I liked that she could interact with the family she worked for on somewhat equal terms.

目前读了两章，非常讨厌这个书里的主人公，简直就是个矫情逼加负能量之王！什么都不满意，怎么都不开心，絮絮叨叨絮絮叨叨，讨厌至极！

感觉好熟悉（bushi）女孩子的rage和成长故事，和母亲畸形的关系，在白人国家的rage和嫉妒（好熟悉，救命）最后学会了独立和自处！很喜欢，感觉留学生都应该读一读hhh

没有一个单词看不懂，没有一处心情读不懂。没有一句话是cliche，没有一页故事不是意料之外情理之中。后殖民主义/female sexuality这些字眼都太死板，无法carry the weight of the world
