St. Mawr确实是一篇极致的小说。很多段落都值得摘抄下来。女主人公的母亲说得对，古往今来凡是严肃生活的男男女女，没有不心碎的，心碎不是结束，只是开始。

Lawrence写墨西哥这几篇真的绝了，神秘原始荒芜绝望，被一点情面都不留的环境描绘逼得抑郁，感觉活不下去了，又心甘情愿地将自己奉献牺牲给这些史前无比黑暗又充满光芒辉煌色彩的世界，真的太好看太令人上瘾了。Lawrence写墨西哥的长篇The Plumed Serpent也是我的最爱之一，太喜欢Lawrence + 墨西哥了，超过喜欢Lawrence + 意大利。这本里最喜欢The Woman Who Rode Away，最后一个部分太美了，写太好了，我一辈子都无法get over这个结尾，我会永远等着夕阳和冰柱和神火的交点，这一个场景永生印在我的视网膜上，我太喜欢了。
