哈罗德布鲁姆推测《摩西五经》作者有可能是个女人，如果是的话，大概就是Isak Dinesen这样的才情与心怀吧?《走出非洲》简直可以算是《旧约·智慧书》里失落的一卷。Isak Dinesen好算半个神学家，行文处处是智/知性的思考与神性的闪烁。她对非洲的爱与怀念，就像张岱在《陶庵梦忆》自序所言，"坚固如佛家舍利，劫火猛烈，犹烧之不失"。读到终卷，几度泣不成声。

很难说明这本书的魔力究竟在哪里，你甚至会觉得它没有清楚的故事主线，但读着读着从这絮叨里却诞生了某种生命的大怆然，触动了某种你之前都不知晓其存在的隐痛。

文字非常质朴舒心。一段特定时期的非洲被定格在一位欧洲女性的记述里，那里的风景和人情都值得好好品味。
