    Enjoy flowers without necessarily wanting to own it. Perfect structure and organization should have a purpose. The only end it serves is its own existence. We see the flower as if it is a perfect embodiment of a rule, whereas it is a rule unto itself. “this flower is beautiful” not reasoned on principles but because we perceive it that way.

    在Tate Britain 读了几页，实在喜欢，遂背回国。跟中译本确实有出入，其他几本也是一样，不建议读中译本。看不懂意大利语就看英译本。

    刚刚读完，激动记录。首先，艾柯是人吗？！博学程度令人发指，这绝对不是一本入门小史，更像他自己的读书笔记（可能博学到一种程度，知识语言就会像水一样自然流淌，完全不知道普通读者是什么水平了，但又并没有读出炫技，感觉是个温和的人？）。其次，我读前半段，尤其是从中世纪到浪漫主义的几章，实实在在感到智力为负，每次翻开再合上，就好像被人群揍到大字不识；但是从浪漫主义之后渐入佳境，出现了越来越多熟悉的名字，居然也能有读到会心一笑、捶胸大笑的时候了，原来大师的读书笔记这么有趣这么信手拈来，最后几章我几乎一气呵成，前面被猛揍的头脑终于等到了享受大保健的一天，感恩！
