    杜波依斯最可贵的是他不断的在修正自己，很喜欢这一本书的intro部分，在critical中前进。语言蛮有趣的，类似于演讲稿，比较有煽动性和情感的。要去读读《联邦党人文集》才知道像不像。“is it the twilight of nightfall or the flush of some faint-dawning day?”有点美，文笔真好啊。推荐of the faith of fathers，比较偏宗教。最后的附录都很像高等教育和黑人学院行动纲领，更多是为了政治和民族主义的教育，为了黑人种族平权的努力。文体一会儿故事，一会儿实证，一会儿社会学，非洲特色吗？但是音乐的部分和宗教部分真的有趣。

    也许因为racial context的缺失，这部“（美国）知识分子书架上必备”的书并没有在大中华区引起太大的反响。文风很有旧时知识分子的矜持与繁琐，但它考察institutional deprivation下黑人处境的广度与反思的深度是开创性的，可说是racial studies方面的《联邦党人文集》

    看完这本书 再比较2019 & trump 只觉得世界更没救了... the irony of whiteness 让澳门人觉得他们是葡萄牙人 让香港人觉得他们是英国人 why can’t we just proudly be Chinese 🙂
