她的weak metonymy的概念出现在了很多post-colonial readings of victorian novels 最棒的部分是intro metonymy的合理使用是建立在habit and convention的逻辑之上的 但正是这个逻辑暗示出其在文学解读中的instability 简单将维多利亚时期的小说中的mahogany, curtain解读为财富和地位的象征只会掩盖物... 她的weak metonymy的概念出现在了很多post-colonial readings of victorian novels 最棒的部分是intro metonymy的合理使用是建立在habit and convention的逻辑之上的 但正是这个逻辑暗示出其在文学解读中的instability 简单将维多利亚时期的小说中的mahogany, curtain解读为财富和地位的象征只会掩盖物件生产背后的血腥历史和master narrative（建议配合lisa lowe来读读） 看到书的标题就知道应该是芝大出版社了😂真是当代thing theory生产大基地~ (展开)

一直没有读文学研究里探讨物质文化的这一支研究，现在来补一下。个人觉得把本书的方法理解为“证史”太过狭隘，因为作者其实更加关心的是一种文学风格的形成如何促成/合理化某种对文本中物件的呈现及语境化读法（即形式和内容、风格和语境的互构），以及社会交换的形式与文学表达的形式之间的相互转换，这是本书理论建构相当精妙也难效仿的一点，也是个人认为对任何文化产物的语境研究非常需要注意的地方。很喜欢结尾谈福尔摩斯和... 一直没有读文学研究里探讨物质文化的这一支研究，现在来补一下。个人觉得把本书的方法理解为“证史”太过狭隘，因为作者其实更加关心的是一种文学风格的形成如何促成/合理化某种对文本中物件的呈现及语境化读法（即形式和内容、风格和语境的互构），以及社会交换的形式与文学表达的形式之间的相互转换，这是本书理论建构相当精妙也难效仿的一点，也是个人认为对任何文化产物的语境研究非常需要注意的地方。很喜欢结尾谈福尔摩斯和物文化的clarifying move，而另一个收获是在于，自己一直知道居家、私人空间等概念是十九世纪产物，读完本书更加确定这些概念在十六世纪必须被转化而不能直接沿用。 (展开)
