居然在这样的时刻读完了这本书。因为对伊斯兰世界的不了解(在此之前我只读过作者的小说,对阿富汗和巴基斯坦的历史没有涉猎),第三部分关于作者的政治观点一开始觉得有些重复和晦涩,但是随着历史在现实中上演并且今天塔利班完全占领了阿富汗,我也逐渐从文学以外的角度理解了作者在拉合尔茶馆的陌生人(直译应该是不情愿的原教旨主义者)里想要解构西方视角里恐怖主义的原因。另外前两个部分写作者作为移民的经历、和母语及英语的关系、成为父亲的感受以及关于写作的种种都非常值得一看。
