诗其实没怎么看懂（也没认真看orz），但后面的日记节选太好了，整页整页的自然观察，或不如说自然生活。日记这种书写真是容易令人感到亲近又温和。学到一句：Sharp showers, bright between. 最后一篇记花园里一棵树被伐倒：I heard the sound and looking out and seeing it maimed there came at that moment a great pang and I wished to die and not to see the inscapes of the world destroyed any more——该多庆幸他早在20世纪到来前就离去了。

非常惊喜的一本，霍普金斯笔下的自然饱含神性之美，最后节选的日记尤其好，比黑塞的《提契诺之歌》好看多了。霍普金斯称自然为"inscape"，颇有东方哲学"天人合一"的味道。他的作品居然没有过中译，想入他的Poems and Prose了。
