    读了部分。“group feeling” reminds me of Benedict Anderson from last year’s anthro class. Interesting tension between religious law and pre-modern judicial system; the question of being observant. Regarding the cyclical nature of civilization, it’s crucial to ask how sustainability (in the sense of civilization) could be achieved, or whether it exists.

    introduction+chapter3/4。视角非常有趣，很多关于社会运行规律的反思甚至非常现代；作者看到了超越个体意志的历史规律，在那个时代的学术水平之下已经非常难能可贵。但是中世纪伊斯兰价值观真的……一言难尽。理解另一个文明实在太艰难了。
