Money in the Bank

This volume is an introduction to the Money Collection of Hongkong Bank. It illustrates in colour all the main varieties of coins and banknotes in the Collection. It contains a rich treasure of its own and the Mercantile Bank's notes, of Hong Kong coins, of Chinese coins and ingots and of silver dollars. All these played a vital role in the history of the Far East. Many previously unpublished notes, coins and ingots are illustrated. The Collection is presented in the context of the history of money in the Far East and of the role of the Hongkong Bank as an issuer and user of money.
