书里有个画面：采石场爆破作业当天，鸣笛后家家关窗闭户，女人抱着大束花行经教堂，被吟唱颂歌的声音吸引，空气中尘埃漂浮，她听得入了迷……以一个典型悬疑小说的通俗开场，作家的落笔处是逝水流年、生活中的点滴；虽遗憾最后一口气没能提起来（但或许这才是最适合本书的形式），这依然是今年我最喜欢的小说作品之一。

把每个人的故事串起来想想还是很有意思的。最有印象的是 Ruth/Martin/Susanna这对lgbt，Cathy/Richard/Mr Wilson,Jones 到底有没有收藏照片，以及几个青少年的故事。全书高频词：thick 。 _(:з」∠)_
