Jill Eggleton is a New Zealand author and teacher who won the Storylines Margaret Mahy Medal for 'outstanding contribution to New Zealand children's literature and literacy'. As a teacher, Eggleton implemented literacy programs that are widely used in New Zealand schools. She is the author of several books on classroom practice, including Linking the Language Strands (republished as Lighting the Literacy Fire), which has sold over 80,000 copies worldwide; and co-author of more than 800 school readers in the `Sails' reading program. Eggleton has worked as a literary consultant for schools around the world, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota.
Jenny Cooper is an illustrator. She has illustrated many educational books and several trade books. Her works include The Pipi and the Mussels and Down in the Forest. She received the Storylines Notable Book Award three times for The Wooden Fish, Ria the Reckless Wrybill, and Le Quesnoy.
Raymond McGrath is an award-winning animation director, animator, illustrator, designer and writer who has been working in children's television and advertising for nearly twenty years. He has illustrated several books and television shows and contributed to many TV commercials. He is the creator and director of the educational pre-school TV series Puzzle Inc, and this is the fifth that he has both written and illustrated. He made the shortlist for the Russell Clark Illustration Award in 2015 with his title Have You Seen a Monster?
