The writer focused on the dark side of human nature and each character has his/ her own side of the story and then all the parts somehow connected together. slow burner,开始几章需要耐着性子，后面情节开始圆满重叠，很好看

一本充满张力与转折、酸楚与惊喜的小说，有精心的布局，精彩的叙述，有血有肉的人物塑造，一波三折的故事，以及恰到好处的幽默感（毕竟是英国作家哈哈）。虽是crime fiction/thriller，但也完全有被归入“文学类”的资格。是获布克奖提名的小说哦，墙裂推荐。

Having so many critiques about this book, I still enjoyed the most part of the book.
