著名童书作家、凯迪克奖得主，被誉为“美国的安徒生”“20世纪的伊索”。

1939年2月11日出生于美国纽约，第二次世界大战期间父亲参军，一家人随父前往英国，后随负伤的父亲载誉回国。珍•尤伦青少年时代喜欢写诗、唱歌、办报纸，大学时候写过一本诗集，其中多篇诗章发表在各种小报上。
