Augustine and his posse of tough orphans are back with preposterous adventures and their entertaining interpretations of all things holy. Now, after living at St. Anne’s for a few months, Auggie has the lay of the land. But something strange is happening…. M might be getting through to her favorite skeptic! In a strange twist of events, Augustine finds himself confronting an ENORMOUS GIANT and defending the Monstrosity (the Bible) with the ever-loyal Jose by his side! The two friends are provoked when the colossal Kelly Marchand arrives at the orphanage. In a poor attempt to engage them in conversation, Kelly mocks the idea of miracles and expresses doubt about all things biblical. The results are explosive! Despite his defense of the Bible, Augustine is still a skeptic. What does it take to get through to him? It may be his own curiosity in the end. One frustrating day, he demands to know why the cross is so important. “Everyone and their freakin’ brother is walking the streets with crosses on their heads, their backs, their cars, their doors, their windows, their arms, their calves, and anywhere else they can think of. They even have chocolate bar crosses!! What’s up with that? Is nothing sacred? Not even chocolate? Why don’t people leave crosses in the church where they belong!” Meanwhile, Sammy has his own plans. The story of Moses and Pharaoh plays out when Sammy decides he wants to learn some of that magic stuff Moe used on Far-Out. His goal is to get out of going to class. Will he learn any holy razzle dazzle or will he wind up in Science class after all? Will Auggie wind up being pulverized by Marchand? Will Jose be adopted and leave the orphanage? The only way to know is to read Mr. Hairy-Scary All-Powerful Might-Tighty Eternal Ruler of the Skies and Everything Else so Angels Flap Around His Head! Join the boys in their holy adventures and follow along as they each grow, learn, and get into more trouble. They have tons more adventures coming up.
