The writing is great--particularly the way Llewellyn captures the characters, the mining community, and the portrait of Welsh village life. His voice is tender and the coziness, struggles, and hardships were depicted in a subtle way. (展开)

作者你是不是有点炫技嫌疑，整一大堆没必要描写……阅读过程很煎熬，就像追天涯八卦论坛，你知道都是狗血，也知道这碗狗血熬出来不对劲，但看都看了总得有始有终哈。虽然没看过改编电影，但从故事来看应该算威尔士人版《屋顶上的小提琴手》。宗教，传统，子女爱情，藏在背景里的宏大叙事，以及没完没了的唱歌。之所以没后者有名，大概是威尔士山区矿工的命还不够某些群体“惨”吧。
