可以从精神分析、女性与疯癫的书写、不可靠叙述、新批评、金融危机和阶级固化等等角度去读，也可以只是享受Fitzgerald凄美而天然的语言，我猜测他写作的时候自我意识很弱，不然诗意不会这么高密度地存在。

男主这性格哪里是个psychologist，明明是个没有self-awareness的神经质的作家。他应该去找人看看自己的酗酒问题、codependency、除了拯救未成年少女之外再没有别的人生目标… 男主让人可怜，但又可怜不起来。小说结构混乱（作者到死前还在调整章节顺序），人物行为缺乏内因，读来感到矫情、俗气。这本小说像菲茨杰拉德一本self-pity的日记。
