Rethinking the Dissertation Process

Representing diverse fields of study, positions, and institutions, the contributors use findings from student group studies and examples of best practices to identify the institutional patterns and support structures that will enhance the dissertation process. They describe how the introduction of dissertation-stage financial support and workshops can quicken completion rates and reveal how a shared sense of responsibility between faculty and students can determine the success of the process.
